Okay, as it currently stands we have a predicament of sorts. With only 17 registered players for Baseball this year I have to make a decision. We cannot take the diamond with only 8 players and with a team of 9 and 8 the risks to the club of forfeitures and the ramifications that come with not meeting the minimum games played can leave players ineligible for Baseball tournaments, even if they are not directly responsible.
I need by midnight Friday 16/9/16 a minimum of 5 new registrations to ge the teams to 11 players in each or else I will need to be the bad guy and inform 5 kids currently registered that they will either need to transfer to Rockingham or Peel to fill numbers or not play this year.
As it is our first year the last thing I want is to a) tell kids we cannot accommodate them, or b) take 2 teams into a comp and have an injury, illness or someone decide they don't really want to play and as a result the team forfeits. The latter has greater repercussions over the length of the season.
Unfortunately the rules established by Little League put limitations on the number of kids who can fill gaps, and the minimum games to be played to be eligible for State and National tournaments. At this point in time should we fail to meet the 11 players per team then I will be force to make the decision.
Should we find the extra 5 then I need a coach who is prepared to sit the Level 2 and take on the team. First training session is Tuesday 20th September at Lark Hill from 4.30 till 6.00
Sorry for what could be bad news but with the season less than 4 weeks away and fixtures needing to be finalised we are running short on time. ...
Secret Harbour District Pirates Tee Ball and Baseball AssociationSome good replies coming through. Games are played on Saturday at 10.00 till 11.30 - Ages 9 to 12 inclusive, training is Tuesday and Thursday 4.30-6.00, Charter Development Games (if they go ahead) will be Wednesday nights for those interested (not mandatory). It sounds like quite a lot but I am always open to those parents who can only commit to 1 night training. There are some additional skill sets that you will pick up with the Baseball side that is advantageous to the Tee Ball. As mentioned, we just need 11 players (12 would be better) per side so minimum 5 and maximum 7 needed.3 years ago
What a phenomenal effort by the 4 kids who attended the Super Squad Tryouts and congratulations to Taj, Lachie and Zach who have been selected to represent this great club and continue displaying the talent we have. Unfortunately Oscar was not successful but we know he's a champion who will continue to grow and development and give his all for this club.
As President I couldn't be happier and the strength of all 4 will certainly enhance the strength of the Under 13's as they look to defend their A division title.
Well done guys and a huge round of applause to all 4 ...

Thank you too all those parents and players who have put their hands up to umpire this year. With not as much stress on the volume of games this year it will make creating a roster a lot easier but will also give the club the opportunity to have a 1st and a 3rd base umpire to assist with the plate umpire.
The rostering will be done this year in a way that has a rotation basis on the day where multiple umpires are keen to umpire. First listed will start at plate and then rotated to 1st and then to 3rd in that order. Priority will go first to those who have obtained their Level 1 (Green Shirts) and have requested to take on Level 2 by speaking with me directly, then those who have or are looking to obtain their Green shirt followed by those who just wish to assist.
As a club we really do need as many Level 2 (Yellow Shirts) as we can to assist during the State Carnivals so if you are interested please come and see me.
We are holding a Level 1 course on the Sunday the 9th of October from 8.30. Registration is essential so please contact me through either facebook or my email from the club website if you are interested. ...
Thank you to all those parents who have put their hands up to coach a team this year. For those who are doing it for the first time the club encourages you to undertake the relevant courses. The details on the courses are available from the TBAWA website Events page. For new coaches, this will give you some of the fundamental drills and information to assist you with your coaching journey and it is highly advantageous. As always I am available to call and talk to if you have any questions. I will be available most afternoons once the season has commenced and can assist you where possible. ...
The website has been updated with the 2 registration forms available to be downloaded for those who still wish to register. Official registrations will close on the 31st October OR once an age group has reached capacity.
